Privacy Policy — World Cup 2026
This privacy policy applies to the World Cup 2026 application operated by UQDZ Studio.
Last updated: June 8, 2026
1. Overview
World Cup 2026 ("the App") is a desktop application for Windows. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information stored locally on your device
The App stores the following data exclusively on your device:
- App preferences — your selected language, color theme (light/dark/system), and favorite teams
- Notification settings — your preferences for match reminders and goal alerts
- Cached data — temporarily cached match data, news articles, and player stats to reduce network requests
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
2.2 Information transmitted to our backend service
When you use the App, requests are sent to a backend proxy service operated by us. This service acts as an intermediary between the App and third-party data providers. The following may be logged:
- Anonymous request metadata (endpoint called, timestamp, response status)
- No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected or stored
2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
- We do not require registration or login
- We do not collect device identifiers, hardware IDs, or crash telemetry
- We do not use tracking cookies or analytics SDKs
3. Third-Party Data Sources
The App retrieves data from the following third-party services through our backend proxy. Your IP address is not forwarded to these services:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| API-Football (api-sports.io) | Live scores, fixtures, standings, player stats | api-sports.io/privacy |
| YouTube (Google LLC) | Video highlights embedded and displayed in-app | policies.google.com/privacy |
| RSS news feeds | Football news from Sky Sports, Guardian, UEFA, and others | Per respective publisher |
| OpenRouter | AI-generated match summaries | openrouter.ai/privacy |
4. Video Content (YouTube)
The Highlights section embeds YouTube videos using the standard YouTube iframe player. When you play a video, YouTube's standard data processing applies per their Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing Google's Privacy Policy if you have concerns about video playback data.
5. Network Requests
The App makes network requests to:
- Our backend proxy service (for live football data, news, and AI summaries)
- YouTube's servers (for video thumbnails and playback)
- Wikipedia (when you open venue or team Wikipedia pages via the built-in browser)
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
7. Data Security
- All communications between the App and our backend use HTTPS
- Your local preferences are stored in your Windows user profile directory and are protected by your Windows account permissions
- We do not store payment information — all purchases are handled by the Microsoft Store
8. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data to request, correct, or delete. Your local app data can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its local storage via Windows Settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
